About Us
We provide comprehensive, year-round programs for young people with the greatest needs and fewest resources. Founded in 2002 by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, After-School All-Stars Los Angeles (ASAS LA) is the premier K-12 program for schools throughout Los Angeles County and the Lucerne Valley. We partner with numerous national and local organizations to provide high-quality free programs to the students we serve.

Program Spotlight:
Workforce Readiness
The “Quest for Success” workforce readiness program provides our high school students with opportunities and experiences to prepare them to be competitive in the workforce. Students gain the self-confidence needed to work through tough challenges, graduate from high school, find a career that they love, and become service-learning minded citizens.
Student Spotlight:
Meet Alfredo
Alfredo is a twelfth-grade student who successfully completed two years of the “Quest for Success” program. He is working toward a career in teaching and is also interested in the catering industry. He has completed both the culinary arts and hospitality online courses through our virtual reality career exploration program. Now, he’s using his experiences to support and mentor students as they begin their “Quest for Success” journeys.

At ASAS, students don’t just participate—they lead, serve, and inspire. Our LA chapter offers workforce development programs like The Quest and leadership programs like BOLD (Building Our Leaders and Dreamers), where students gain the confidence, skills, and character to step up as leaders in their schools and communities.
If you had told a little girl from the Bronx in New York City, “You will be part of something greater one day,” she would not have believed it. That little girl was me growing up.
Now, as the Director of Human Resources at ASAS, I’m learning about the impact we make every day, and I am in awe.
Last January, hundreds of students in our LA and NY chapters attended exclusive early screenings of Wonka.
This once-in-a-lifetime experience included a red carpet photoshoot, giveaways, and a surprise visit by “Willy Wonka” himself, Timothée Chalamet!
