Youth Advisory Board
What is the Youth Advisory Board?
The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is a nationwide program that provides students with the resources and tools to be advocates for themselves and champions for their communities. YAB members (yabbies, for short) form strong bonds with their peers and mentors, attend a week-long leadership retreat, and spearhead service projects like food banks, clothing drives, and neighborhood clean-ups.

All-Star Leadership University (ASLU) is a week-long youth leadership conference that brings together All-Star mentors and student leaders from across the U.S. to to explore their strengths as leaders, discover their voice, and make an impact in their community through their unique purpose in life.
We’re thrilled to feature an outstanding All-Star who has discovered her passion through community service and advocacy. Meet Aurie-Anne, a ninth-grade student whose achievements at ASAS South Florida have earned her a prestigious role as one of only ten Youth Ambassadors for the Afterschool Alliance!
Advocacy. Service. Leadership. You! These were the focal points of this year’s All-Star Leadership University in Orlando, Florida. The event hosted workshops for both students and mentors: helping students discover the power of their personal stories, as well as partnering with mentors to create learning environments where youth can feel safe sharing their stories.
