About Us
After-School All-Stars is one of the country’s largest nonprofit organizations working to close the opportunity gap for low-income youth. Our mission is to provide year-round comprehensive programs that keep children safe and help them succeed in school and life. Founded in 1996, our chapter reaches more than 2,700 students at 44 sites across San Antonio and Uvalde.

Putting the Pieces Together
In preparation for our annual Celebration Luncheon, All-Star students created special gifts for honorees: they worked together to assemble Lego sets that represented the work our honorees do. During the event, we presented the Legos as tokens of our appreciation for their community service.
The event was a great success and allowed students to interact in a meaningful way with outstanding members of the community.

Feeling Thankful 🙏
We are so grateful to everyone who makes it possible for us to provide a safe, enjoyable, and enriching space for students.
In the words of one All-Star, “Without ASAS, I would be stuck at school with nothing to do. Instead, I have something fun and productive to do while I wait for my parents: I can learn on a computer, explore my creativity with art, and stay active in the gym—plus, the staff is really nice!”
Friends, family members, and generous donors–thank you for your support!

The statistics on youth mental health can be daunting: across the U.S., 11.5% of youth (2.7 million young people) are experiencing severe major depression. Our free, year-round programs strive to provide positive mentorship and foster healthy habits in safe environments where students feel heard, valued, and supported.
Thanks to a grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, our Rising Stars program is connecting hundreds of students across the country with year-round mentors. Rising Stars has been introduced to 28 metropolitan communities across ten ASAS chapters where at-risk youth are struggling with multiple risk factors that contribute to juvenile crime and truancy.
