At ASAS Washington, D.C., we are creating a powerful support system for All-Stars by weaving together our mentorship and Youth Advisory Board (YAB) programs.
Mentors—including community members, school personnel, and ASAS team members—provide one-on-one and group mentoring, fostering safe spaces where students can process life events, emotions, and challenges. YAB members extend this impact by leading peer mentorship circles, giving students the opportunity to support one another in meaningful ways.
Studies show that youth mentorship improves academic success, emotional wellbeing, and future career readiness—outcomes that we are seeing firsthand. Under the leadership of Mentor Coordinator Brian Allen, this growing network of students and trusted adults is helping young people build confidence, develop leadership skills, and navigate life’s challenges with resilience.
