This DAF Day, your generosity can spark a new interest, build confidence, open a door, or help a young person see a future they may not have imagined before.
Since 2013, After-School All-Stars DC (ASAS) has provided free, daily academic and enrichment programs to close the achievement and opportunity gap for underserved youth. ASAS currently serves 500 students in grades 3–8 at six DC Public Schools. Through academic readiness, STEM/STEAM, health and wellness, visual and performing arts, and career exploration programs, students discover new interests while building the skills and self-confidence to become tomorrow’s leaders. In the current fundraising climate, nonprofits are facing unprecedented challenges, but we are still here doing this critical work thanks to supporters like you!
Your DAF gift is what makes these experiences possible.
A gift of $500 can support five students’ participation in a 10-week mental wellness through art program to explore creativity, self-expression, and mindfulness.
A gift of $750 can fund a career exposure experience for 15 students, helping them encounter new professions and pathways to future success.
A gift of $1,000 can provide one student with a full year of afterschool programming, providing consistent access to academic support, enrichment, mentorship, and meaningful relationships.
A gift of $2,500 can fund a healthy cooking class at two schools, serving a total of 30 students, to increase access to fresh fruits and vegetables for students living in food desert areas.
And a gift of $5,000 can fund a full program year of hands-on STEM classes for 10 students, inspiring them to pursue careers in robotics, engineering, and coding.
